Isaiah 41:10 (KJ21)

10 fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.

The Holy Spirit has been gently thumping me upside the head for a few days.   A door has been opened, plans percolating and forming and I have been standing  flat-footed, rooted and immobile.

Changes need to be made, new vistas explored yet there has been catatonic  hesitancy, shrouded in fear.   The whisper began, “fear not, for I am with you”.   The Message translation of this text resonated, hitting the nail solidly on the head,

Isaiah 41:10 (MSG)    10 “ ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side.  I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you.   There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.  I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.  I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.   Truly my heart has been flooded by comfort and peace and understanding that whatever it is that God desires for you to do, He is right there, supporting and encouraging.

There are moments when the dream or vision is so gigantic and out our normal comfort zones,  yet we must always remember that God provided visions are backed by the knowledge that He will equip us to not only take on the endeavor but to succeed, in the name of Jesus.  So here, I am poised to jump into the unknown, willing to fulfill the destiny God has for me and as always in all ways giving Him Glory.

Making His praise glorious!

Genesis 30:35-36 (NIV)

35 That same day he removed all the male goats that were streaked or spotted, and all the speckled or spotted female goats (all that had white on them) and all the dark-colored lambs,  and he placed them in the care of his sons. 36 Then he put a three-day journey   between himself and Jacob, while Jacob continued to tend the rest of Laban’s flocks.

I love re-reading old Bible stories. No matter how many times I open the Bible there is always something new revealed to me.

I was reading about hardworking, diligent Jacob who finally and honestly expressed a desire to “have something for his household”. His final offered suggestion on the outside did not look or sound like a good deal.

Laban readily agreed, yet he proceeded to attempt to slow the process by removing the very animals Jacob asked to have as salary. But, God!  Jacob listened to the whisperings of the Lord and asked for a flock of misfits.  Spotted, speckled, streaked and dark coated, possibly not the most desirable but still in the  hands of the Lord and with proper, simple genetic machinations, the seemingly weak, defective livestock became the foundation of a great flock of walking wealth. God blessed him with the skill and knowledge to turn apparent damage into wealth.

Oft told are stories of people who have seemingly gone from “rags to riches” yet, what may be unseen is how the hand of God moved and worked in those lives.  Being damaged, broken and seemingly appearing weak are often just the foundation God needs to turn tragedy into triumph or misfortune into gold.

Making His praise glorious!
