A typical speed limit sign in the United State...

23 The fear of the LORD leads to life;
   then one rests content, untouched by trouble.  Proverbs 19:23

I have a confession that I may or may not have expressed before, I am an extremely nervous passenger. There it is out  and I still do not feel one bit better. It is not just cars, but planes and buses make me incredibly, break a sweat, out the window staring, angst filled, irrationally nervous. Cars factor heaviest into the equation as I am in one every single day.  (Note I said passenger! ) Some else at the wheel and in my mind they are always going too fast, following too closely and never stopping exactly as I think they should, oh the list of infractions could go on and on.  Yet, when I am driving  all is well, the squirrels and chipmunks are safe,  I do the speed limit, obey all the traffic rules and am always aware of my surroundings.  In my defense, a portion of my nervousness stems from the fact that  in every single vehicle accident I have been a party to in my life…I was a passenger.

Being a passenger requires willingness to confidently put myself in the hands of someone else.  To release  the control of where I am going, sit back , relax and enjoy the ride as another manuevers the mode of transportation.  In my Christian experience surrendering should make me a better passenger.   By allowing the Lord to rule and reign in my life,  freely I lift my hands from the wheel, take knitting needles in hand and go where God takes me.   I acknowledge that without God, I wandered aimlessly, without purpose, though I thought progress was being made.   The reality was that I was nowhere and not getting anywhere.  There is a calming humbleness and trust in learning to release the wheel.  Lord, please keep working on me to not be such a nervous passenger, to believe that when I ask You to protect the driver, conductor and engineer that Your covering of wisdom and protection covers us all.

Making His praise glorious!
