25-26 God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered his life’s blood, so that by faith in him we could come to God. And God did this to show that in the past he was right to be patient and forgive sinners. This also shows that God is right when he accepts people who have faith in Jesus.
Yesterday morning I saw a license plate on a little red car that has stayed with me for more than 24 hours. Those few letters said:
“I SHD RED”
The possibilities of what the driver meant when requesting that particular plate are endless. Could it be support for a college or professional sporting team? A school or lifelong favorite color? Acknowledgement of being a blood donor or purely a personal sign of being a Christian.
I imagine the joy of riding around with a plate that causes others pause and ponder, as with a flash of a blinker and lane change who I am or might be has been presented and sailed by in the blink of seven letters. What could it be? The chance declaration of social community, humanity and understanding that all blood is red, filled me with pride as a blood donor.
As a follower of Christ Jesus, I am humbled because the sacrifice of His love and shed blood I was able to experience the life-cleansing, grace and mercy properties of Hs precious gift. I may not ever know what that license plate meant but I am grateful for the God who allowed me to see the possibilities.
Making His praise glorious!
