Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
I have been following Emily’s Hats for Hope for months. Viewing the pictures of the pile of hats arriving in New Jersey, I knew that I wanted to do something to assist in this mission begun by a very thoughtful young lady.
Then as God would have it, I read a post recently that touched and moved me to actions when it asked if there was interest in chapters in other areas of the country.
Lord, once again you provided an opportunity and an outlet! I’ve been knitting for family and friends for months, yet I needed to do more, give more make an impact in this community I call home. So I contacted the organization and am in the process of starting the Virginia Chapter of Emily’s Hats for Hope. The mission is simple “Creating knitted (hats, etc.) for the homeless and working poor in the United States.”
It is my desire to do what I can to assist in fulfilling this need, “36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Matthew 25:36 (NIV) While I may not have all the resources in the world, I have a voice and can ask for assistance in this mission!
Anyone willing to knit/crochet hats, gloves, scarves baby blankets to keep others warm, please let me know. I am a knitting soldier in the Lord’s army and with Him as General the mission of Emily’s Hats for Hope Initiative will spread to keep those in need wrapped in warmth created by our hands!
Making His praise glorious!
