Psalm 62:7 (GW)
7 My salvation and my glory depend on God. God is the rock of my strength, my refuge.
I know, I know from the date and the words possibly a marble or two short! Well, I am completely unapologetic about being tardy! Yesterday we celebrated the independence of a great nation but every day somewhere someone is celebrating some form of independence. Whether it is from an addictions, abusive relationships, school, leaving the nest or sin. These celebrations of independence happen more than just once a year.
Independence from sin has proved tricky because for me it has meant total dependence upon Christ. I can wave my hands and proclaim from the highest peaks how independent I am but the truth remains that without my dependence on the Lord those things that previously had me bound will find ways to send tendrils to stealthily pull me back in left to my own devices.
Today I celebrate with so many others the independence that life lived for Christ and salvation brings, while celebrating the joy and contentment found in being totally dependent on God!
Making His praise glorious!
