Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight. (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. (GNT)
I must state humbly that there are a lot of things that I don’t know. There are words that come out of my mouth that shock even me. It is then that I realize that when I surrender this vessel to God, He is able to use me, as He sees fit. When I ask Him to give me the words to speak, my tongue and pen are surrendered for His purposes. When I release my mind and soul to be governed by God, it just works. The gift of free will is still very much in my hands, but the realization that for many years it was “my” will that caused me unnecessary heartache and pain opens my heart to be used by God, however. Very simply, Father I trust you in all things. You are my Creator, Father and Protector. I am not an automaton or puppet dancing idly and without purpose. You, Father God, alone know what is best for me, you Papa know each and every one of my needs and desires. How cheeky of me to not remember that you know me infinitely and more intimately than I know myself. I trust You to guide my steps, even when the path they are on appear to head in a direction that is more solid than transparent to my feeble eyes.
Forgive me, when I falter, when weakness and doubt try to eclipse the goodness you have for my life, again I trust you. As I write these words, I am overwhelmed again by how awesome, loving, comforting and merciful you have been and continue ever more to be. Father, I thank you for the grace and mercy that cover me when I walked as though my life blinded by my own soiled soul. I am thankful to be in that place of complete trust. Trusting you with everything, I am your servant, use me as you will!
Make His praise glorious!
